Advertising & Affiliate Disclosure

BritainNow.uk is funded through a combination of display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. This page explains how those revenue streams work, what they mean for you as a reader, and how we maintain editorial independence. For full details of our ownership and corporate structure, see our ownership and funding page.

How is BritainNow.uk funded?

BritainNow.uk is operated by Calpe Press Ltd., a private company limited by shares registered in Gibraltar. The site generates revenue through display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships and content licensing. All commercial material is clearly labelled, and affiliate links are disclosed in accordance with UK consumer protection regulations.

Display advertising is served on most pages and may be targeted by third-party ad networks. Sponsored content is marked with a prominent “Sponsored” or “Paid Promotion” label. Content licensing involves selling republication rights to other media outlets. No funding source determines editorial decisions — our editorial team, led by Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Ellery, retains full control over what we publish.

What are affiliate links and how do we disclose them?

Affiliate links are special URLs that allow BritainNow.uk to earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase, at no extra cost to you. Every article containing affiliate links carries a clear disclosure at the top or bottom of the piece, such as: “This article contains affiliate links. We may earn a commission if you purchase through them.”

Our affiliate partnerships include retailers, service providers and comparison sites. We only recommend products or services that our journalists and editors believe are relevant and useful to our readers. The presence of an affiliate link does not affect the editorial assessment of the item. Readers can identify affiliate links by the disclosure statement; if none appears, no commission is earned. All affiliate relationships are reviewed by our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Oliver Reeves, to ensure compliance with our policies.

Does advertising influence our editorial coverage?

No. Advertising and commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. BritainNow.uk operates a strict separation between our editorial team and our advertising and commercial departments. This separation is enforced by policy and by organisational structure: editorial staff report to the Editor-in-Chief, while commercial staff report to the publisher.

Our editorial policy explicitly states that no advertiser, sponsor or partner may influence the selection, emphasis or timing of news stories, analysis or opinion pieces. Sponsored content is governed by a separate policy — see our sponsored content policy — and is always clearly labelled to distinguish it from independent editorial material. Any breach of this separation is investigated by Oliver Reeves and may result in immediate corrective action.

What you can expect from us

You can expect full transparency about how BritainNow.uk is funded and where commercial interests intersect with our content. Every affiliate link is disclosed, every sponsored article is labelled, and every advertisement is clearly distinguishable from editorial material. Our fact-checking and source verification processes, led by Oliver Reeves, apply equally to all content regardless of how it is paid for.

If you see something you believe is not adequately labelled or that improperly mixes commercial and editorial content, please contact our corrections desk at corrections@britainnow.uk. We will review and correct any errors or omissions promptly, and we will update this disclosure page as our commercial practices evolve.

Who manages our commercial relationships?

Our advertising, affiliate and partnership programmes are managed by dedicated teams separate from the newsroom. For advertising enquiries, contact advertising@britainnow.uk. For affiliate-related questions, write to affiliate@britainnow.uk. For commercial partnerships and sponsorship opportunities, email partnerships@britainnow.uk.

Editorial decisions remain the responsibility of Jonathan Ellery and his team. Our compliance and legal officers at legal@britainnow.uk oversee all commercial agreements to ensure they align with our standards. For general questions about our funding, see our ownership page or contact info@britainnow.uk.

If you have a question about how we label advertising or affiliate links, or if you believe a piece of content has not been properly disclosed, please contact our standards desk at complaints@britainnow.uk. For complaints about commercial content specifically, you may also reach out to our compliance team at compliance@britainnow.uk. We aim to respond to all queries within five working days.
