Who is responsible for what we publish?
BritainNow.uk is published by Calpe Press Ltd., a private company limited by shares registered in Gibraltar. Editorial control rests entirely with Editor-in-Chief Jonathan Ellery, who oversees editorial policy, corrections, publication decisions, and content quality. He is supported by Oliver Reeves, our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, who manages fact-checking, source verification, and reviews of sensitive stories before they go live.
Our Managing Editor Rebecca Haines coordinates daily editorial planning, article commissioning, and newsroom workflow. Our specialist editors bring subject-matter expertise to their beats: Thomas Whitmore covers politics and public affairs from Westminster and local councils; Charlotte Foster reports on business, markets, economics, and personal finance; and Sophie Marlowe leads our culture and lifestyle coverage. Every piece of editorial content published on this site is reviewed by a human editor. We use digital tools for research, formatting, headline options, and transcription, but no story is published without human oversight. What sources do we rely on?
We give priority to official, primary, and authoritative sources. Our reporters and editors consult these regularly:

- UK Parliament — legislation, Hansard, select committee reports, and parliamentary proceedings.
- GOV.UK — policy announcements, public records, and government guidance.

Every article is reviewed by a human editor before publication, and our fact-checking process involves verifying claims against primary sources, court documents, company filings, expert testimony, direct interviews, press conferences, and first-hand reporting whenever possible. Rumours and unverified claims are always labelled as such.
Our funding comes from display advertising, affiliate links, commercial partnerships, sponsored content, newsletter sponsorships, and content licensing. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled, affiliate links are disclosed, and commercial relationships never determine editorial conclusions. How do we handle mistakes?
When we get something wrong, we correct it openly and promptly.
