Jeremie Frimpong is a 25-year-old Dutch professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Liverpool. Born in Amsterdam on 10 December 2000, he joined the Premier League club in May 2025 after activating a €35m release clause in his Bayer Leverkusen contract. Frimpong emerged through the Manchester City academy before making a name for himself at Celtic and then in Germany, where he helped Leverkusen win an unprecedented unbeaten Bundesliga title.
His move to Anfield was the culmination of more than a decade of interest from Liverpool, who had tracked him since his youth days. Known for his explosive pace and attacking output, Frimpong arrives as a direct replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold and is expected to slot into Arne Slot’s system as an aggressive wing-back.
Off the pitch, Frimpong keeps a relatively low profile. Public records confirm he comes from a large family — he is the fifth of seven children — and that his father and a brother are ardent Liverpool supporters. But many personal details, including his marital status and exact religious affiliation, remain unconfirmed.
